I have to admit that I've experienced the benefits of vacationing in several Cancun all inclusive hotels. I enjoyed day after day of lying by the pool, enjoy the daily specials and frosty Margaritas.
And I've had a fantastic trip, coming home with a great tan and fabulous memories. But I've also realized you miss a lot of the Cancun experience when you stay in an all inclusive.
Some of the benefits of staying in Cancun all inclusive hotels are:
You can eat and drink as much as you'd like without having to worry about paying for anything. It's great not to have to worry about carry a wallet around everywhere you go.
Budgeting is really easy when you stay in an all inclusive hotel. You can easily book your airfare and lodging on a travel website and know exactly how much your vacation is going to cost
It's great for the whole family There are activities for Mom, Dad, the kids and Grandpa and Grandma. You don't have to worry about fighting over the restaurant choice. Older kids can have a lot of freedom around the hotel grounds - there's a lot to do without them leaving.

You don't get the chance to eat out. Cancun has some great restaurants that you'll never get to try if you stay at the resort the entire time. While the Cancun all inclusive resorts have some good restaurants, you might want to venture out to taste the local cuisine.
Most hotels lack night life. Some of the resorts offer discos, but most of these clubs close up early. In fact, many of the bars close up early as well. At one of the Cancun all inclusive resorts I stayed at, every bar was closed up tight by 1 am. Cancun night life is something you don't want to miss. If you never leave your resort, you'll really be missing out.
All inclusive resorts are popular This doesn't sound bad at first, but once you are packed into an elevator with 15 of your "closest" friends you will understand. The popularity of all inclusive leads them to often operate at close to 100% occupancy.
These are a few things to think about when planning a Cancun vacation. Remember, just because you are staying at one of the Cancun all inclusive hotels, doesn't mean you have to stay there the entire time. Don't be afraid to venture out and explore the area.
