Cremation jewelry helps keep memories of a deceased loved one close at hand. There are dozens of styles and symbols to choose from. There is something to match every religious belief, taste, and personality. Pendants are available as hearts, crosses, roses, stars, rosaries, and so forth. Many people like to store a small amount of ashes into a piece of jewelry, so that they can carry their loved one with them wherever they go. These pendants aren't just lovely - they also provide comfort that part of a loved one is still around.

Memorial pendants are just a modern take on cremation. Cultures around the world have been cremating their loved ones for centuries. It's tradition to want to memorialize a loved one. Since there are so many styles of jewelry, it's easy to memorialize someone by storing some of their ashes in a pendant that represents their personality.

For many centuries, cremation memorials were vases in which a cremated individual's ashes were stored and displayed in his or her family home. While this is still a common tradition, more and more families are starting to turn to cremation jewelry. Now, it's possible to even wear a small piece of the deceased loved one, to keep them close at all times.

This jewelry can be something as simple as a small heart pendant or as elegant as a gold cross. They can also be personalized with the individual's name on it, or with an image of him or her inside. Heart-shaped lockets are some of the most popular, as they can contain a small amount of ashes and a picture of the deceased. The jewelry is available in all metals and finishes. They can contain rubies, pearls, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, or any other type of gemstone.

Not all cremation jewelry includes necklaces, either. Some people choose bracelets instead. One popular choice is a stainless steel bracelet with a lock heart, in which the ashes or a lock of hair can be kept. For men, there are wide band bracelets available made out of silver, gold, or titanium. Jewelry pieces are made in styles for both men and women.

Cremation pendants don't have to be used for human ashes or hair, either - a lot of people buy them as a memorial for their pets as well. There are designs for every animal imaginable, including dog bones for dogs, cat medallions for kitties, horse pendants, bird pendants, and so on. They can be personalized with the pet's name on them. Some pet owners put ashes in the pendants and some put clips of fur. That way, they can keep a part of their little companions with them always.

Out of all cremation jewelry designs, ones that are religious in nature are the most popular. A cross, Star of David, Star and Crescent, Hindu symbols, and pagan jewelry are all reminders that the deceased is now in a better place. This provides the living with some comfort in knowing that their loved one has moved on. One popular choice is an angel wings pendant, as it symbolizes that the individual is now watching over his or her loved ones from heaven.
