The Music Of A Wedding

By: Craig Thornburrow

Published: February 7, 2008
Wedding songs can be a lovely addition to a wedding. Which wedding songs should you use? Do you need a soloist for the wedding songs? How do you go about finding wedding songs that are appropriate for the ceremony or reception? These questions about wedding songs will be addressed in this article.

Many wedding sites have ideas and suggestions for wedding songs. Online wedding sited may list wedding songs that are appropriate for every type of wedding. Wedding sites may also have lists of musicians in your area who can perform the wedding music.

If you are planning to be married in a church or other religious facility the pastor or minister of music will be able to answer any questions you have about wedding songs. You will need to decide which wedding songs you want to use. It will also be important to think about whether you want to have the guests sing any of the wedding songs or if you would prefer to have a soloist.

There are many people who choose to have wedding songs sung by a soloist or small group of musicians. This decision is one that should be made with some thought. Cousin Alfred may have offered to sing wedding songs at your wedding but it would be a good idea to make sure you are a fan of the guys voice. Have you ever been to a wedding and wondered what the bride or groom was thinking when they agreed to have that particular soloist sing?

There are also times when the bride or groom plans to sing one of the wedding songs. Some people can pull this off and others find the experience far too sentimental. If you are not sure the wedding song can be sung without a breakdown by either bride or groom you can always have the song sung at the reception instead. This is often a less emotional choice.

You may wish to have a group sing wedding songs at the reception. This is a more relaxed arena for wedding songs and you may find a much wider choice of selections. Before you hire a band to sing at the wedding reception, listen to their music and make sure you like their sound and the choices they offer.

There are many ways to incorporate wedding songs into your wedding day.
