Audi used cars like the A8 is their best luxury sedan that the German automaker has to offer. This vehicle competes with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the BMW 7-Series. Both the S-Class and the 7-Series are those motor company’s flagship vehicles. As you can imagine, buying this vehicle brand new in Canada would cost you a lot of money and their basic package costs over $99,000cad. Being from Canada and having the Canadian dollar at parity makes a lot of sense to look for a used Audi A8 in America instead of buying a new one in Canada. My research will be on the Audi A8 as a used vehicle.
Audi A8 used cars:
I looked at different Audi A8 models from the years 2004 to 2007 and this is their second generation vehicle. This model is very spacious inside and has been said in automotive circles to have the best interior design than any of its competitors. The Audi A8 has a Multi-Media Interface that handles the radio and navigation system and the air suspension. The Multi- Media Interface is a small seven inch screen which can come in and out of the dash board. The speedometer and engine gauges are easy to read and the center console (with the MMI) is easy to use. The A8 comes standard with power steering, ABS brakes, am/fm radio, power windows, navigation system and a CD player just to name a few.
I found different fuel statistics for the various models the A8 has to offer. The base model had a fuel rating of 13.1-litre, per 100km for city driving and 8.8-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. The W12 had a fuel rating of 16.4-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 10.4-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. Their best model, the S8 had a fuel rating of 15.9-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 10.3-litre, per 100km, for highway driving.
There are various engine sizes for the different models the A8 has to offer. The base model has a V8, 4.2-litre engine and this produces 335 horsepower. The W12 has a V8, 6.0-litre engine and this produces 450 horsepower. Their best model, the S8 has a V10, 5.2-litre engine.
Let’s look at some pros and cons of the Audi A8 as a used vehicle:
1- There are problems with the radiator leaking.
2- There are minor issues with the MMI system which can be fixed with software.
3- There are no records from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for crash tests done to the A8.
I hope this helps if you’re looking at Audi used cars like the A8.
