Competing Properly With Other Marketing Postcards

Even when it comes to direct mail marketing with postcards, there will always be a time when you will face some tough competition. When this happens, you should always be ready to tweak your postcard printing so that you can compete properly with them. This does not only mean using a new postcard template. You will have to reprocess your whole development steps to produce a more competitive and powerful postcard printing. Let me teach you how to compete properly by giving you some seven steps in developing competitive direct mail marketing postcards.

1. Know thy enemy – Knowledge about your enemy is crucial of course in a competition. When it comes to direct mail marketing, you will want to know what kind of designs your rivals are using as well as the key locations and printing qualities that they have chosen. The more you know about the strength and weaknesses of your enemy in marketing, the better as this will shape how you can adapt your own designs and content to surpass them.

2. Know thyself – The next most important thing that you must do is to know thyself. You should also try to accurately determine your own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to postcard printing. Are you limited by your budget? Are you limited by the area for deployment? Do you need to hire talent or not for your postcard designs?

By having larger postcards, you can become more significant and more impressive than your rivals are in postcard printing.

4. Use only professionally made covers – When it comes to the postcard covers, the only way to really beat out the competition is to use professionally made covers. You don’t just use sample pictures or clip-arts in your commercial postcards. You should have very well composed and impressive cover images and layouts that look very impressive and of course original. This allows you to have a better chance of competing with other kinds of postcards that have equally professional covers.

5. Have a unique selling point – When there are tons of rivals in marketing, it is important for your own postcards to have a unique selling point. You cannot just offer the same thing that those other marketing postcards are giving. You must show them that your offer is unique, and they can gain more by working with your marketing postcards. So make sure that you have this by thinking really hard about the unique selling point of your postcard marketing product. Does it have the cheapest price or maybe it may have some freebies included? The more unique sounding the offer is, the better.

6. Have one memorable design feature – Speaking of memorable, your color postcards should also always have one memorable design feature. It can be that you may have embedded design elements, glittering ink areas or maybe just an extra fold in the postcard. This allows people to remember exactly what your postcard look likes, increasing its chances of marketing to other people.

7. Use the best quality postcard paper – Finally, to make the best impression upon readers and be competitive you should always use the best quality postcard paper. Using expensive paper materials for your postcards tend to convince people that the postcard is worth keeping and reading. If you can outdo your rivals in this aspect, you should have a big advantage, especially when you both deploy to the same addresses.

Now you know exactly what you can do to compete with other marketing postcards out there. Just follow through on all the steps above and you won’t have to worry about being outmuscled by those rivals.
