Many investors in the precious metals business generate significant amounts of profit when they sell silver rounds. While not considered legal tender in any country, the precious metal content of many rounds such as silver rounds make them attractive investment instruments that get bought and sold at a fast rate. As such, silver rounds generate considerable interest in many circles, and it is actually worthwhile to sell these at a time when the silver spot price is high.

The key to selling silver rounds at the best possible markup depends on your observing subtle changes in the spot pricing of the silver markets. You should therefore spend a bit of time and effort in familiarizing yourself with the silver spot prices as they fluctuate. Silver rounds differ further from silver coins because they are not normally produced at the direction of a government as is the case with silver coins. And silver coins enjoy a higher level of prestige among collectors. Although some people actually do collect silver rounds, their appeal lies more in being able to turn them around rapidly purely for their silver content.

Silver rounds possess a pure silver content of 99.9%. You should always try to verify this actual rating especially if you intend buying and selling to silver coin dealers. There does exist in this market silver rounds that can be found of a sub standard content rating, and you should generally try to steer clear of them. They do not offer much in investment value and in fact bring detriment to the silver industry. Poor quality silver rounds may be offered cheaply but, as experienced investors will tell you, often prove more difficult to sell.

If you have silver rounds that you might be interesting in selling to coin dealers, be sure to establish if they are indeed made of pure silver. This is fairly easy to do with a coin scale to get a good measure of the silver content. If you don't have a coin scale, then any other scale that can give you accurate readings will do. To determine the silver content in a round is a simple two step process:

1. Your first task is to measure the diameter of the round. The ideal diameter should be around 40mm.

2. Next you can take the weight reading of the round. If your round was in fact 40mm in diameter and the weight is close to or about 1 troy ounce, then this will be enough proof that your round is top quality. If however your reading seems far from these figures then it means you are sitting with a lesser quality silver round.

There is another reason why you should never mix silver rounds with silver coins, especially if you intend to sell them. Silver rounds are sold exclusively on the basis of the bullion value attached to them; while silver coins in addition to having a bullion value, are also regarded as items worth acquiring from a collectors point of view. Silver rounds therefore can be said to be excellent investment instruments that can be bought and sold continuously to silver coin dealers as a sound ongoing business strategy. If you are a coin collector then you know that actual silver coins are better suited to your interests.

If you in the market to sell silver rounds then you can be assured of decent profits whether you are selling a handful of rounds or are moving large quantities. Always be sure to verify the quality of the silver rounds if you are buying and remember to disclose these details when you are doing a sale. If you are not happy with a particular scenario where you have genuine quality rounds to offer and the buyer seems less than willing, then you can always take your business elsewhere if you need to. As long as you are sure of the value of the rounds you are dealing with, you will experience absolutely no hassle in making silver rounds a profitable venture for yourself.
