Mexico is nice, Florida is alright but the Dominican Republic is a fabulous destination for the annual vacation! Most of the traveling crowds have not yet discovered the wonder that is the DR. Before the Spanish landed on the island of Hispaniola, where the Dominican Republic is located, indigenous peoples called the Tainos occupied the land. There are only traces of pure Tainos heritage left today, however their culture is remembered through a specially designed Tainos village at Manati Park. Many attractions in the Dominican have recreated a village, but the one at Manati Park has been highly rated consistently over the years.
