Mexico is nice, Florida is alright but the Dominican Republic is a fabulous destination for the annual vacation! Most of the traveling crowds have not yet discovered the wonder that is the DR. There are resorts and attractions, but they are nowhere near as overcrowded and booked up as those in Mexico. Perhaps it is just a matter of time before the throngs of travelers arrive, as it is an inexpensive and beautiful place to visit. Go ahead, fly down to the Dominican before everyone else does!

Manati Park is an amusement park in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. There is a little bit of everything at Manati Park, activities for the whole family. The first thing every visitor will be struck by is the incredible tropical gardens overflowing with colourful vegetation and natural beauty. The mission of Manati Park is protection and preservation of all plant and animal life in danger of extinction, and therefore the staff at the park is happy to educate guests on the local inhabitants. Iguanas, caimans, flamingos, parrots, sea lions and all kinds of snakes are living at Manati Park.

With all that wildlife around, it is only natural to interact with it! Park staff are trained to assist guests with their one-on-one experience with the snakes and other species, so go ahead! Gently caress a colourful iguana. Hold a non-venomous serpent as it explores your scent. Yet the best experience of all - swim with the dolphins in the dolphinarium! That's right children and adults of all ages can swim around the pool at Manati Park with friendly dolphins, and always under close supervision by specially trained staff. Now that is an experience no one will ever forget!

Before the Spanish landed on the island of Hispaniola, where the Dominican Republic is located, indigenous peoples called the Tainos occupied the land. There are only traces of pure Tainos heritage left today, however their culture is remembered through a specially designed Tainos village at Manati Park. Many attractions in the Dominican have recreated a village, but the one at Manati Park has been highly rated consistently over the years. Visit the village and take in the vibrant dance rituals, the authentic dress and unique artifacts.

The Dominican Republic has a unique culture, unlike its neighbors in the Caribbean. There is certainly a Spanish flavor to the nation, but it is tempered with African nuances and Tainos customs. Explore the country with respect, and enjoy the bright natural beauty of the landscape. Discover the Dominican!
