1. Focus is very important. Unless you are focused with your
marketing plan, failure is just a matter of time. What do I mean
by focus? Focus is having a sense of direction. Knowing what you
want from your marketing efforts. It's can also be called the
Why in marketing. Many times we begin a marketing venture and
within a short period of time we have switched to something
else. Imagine starting a brick and mortor business, spending
your hard earned cash investing in inventory, products,
advertising, building expense, etc and within what 30 to 60 days
you decide to do something else. Now, the bad thing is that you
continue to do this over and over again only to find failure.
Solution. Focus on just 1 program at a time. Make is successful
and if you want to do something else you can. Also choose your
program wisely, it should have some value to you. If you don't
use your own products or services, you don't see a value in it.

2. After you decide what you want to market, Make a list daily
on what your task will be.What do I mean by a list? Well, let me
say it another way. Would you buy a home if the builder just
wakes up one morning starts building without a "to do" plan? A
list of what he wants to accomplish that day. A master plan on
what the final product will look like. Well, marketing is the
same. You should have a plan or list. You need to decide what
you want to accomplish before you begin daily, weekly, monthly,
etc. This will give you a sense of direction. With that sense of
direction you will see growth. One important secret to make this
easier to accomplish. The internet is a wealth of information,
you will always find something directing your attention away
from your focus. Solution. Get on and off the internet when you
finish our list. Afterall, isn't freedom one of the things
you're looking for. That's the beautiful part of the list. You
will have a feeling of accomplishment by completing your list.
That will go a long way. Remember if you don't plan, you plan to
fail.
3. Find a Mentor. If you can find a mentor in the area you're
marketing, that should save you lots of time. I have to say
something about mentors or teachers. When the student is ready
the teacher will appear. You probably heard this before. It's
true, you can find mentors everywhere. Books, tapes, even the
internet. This is an ever growing process. Become an expert.
Read everything you can get your hands on relating to your
topic. You will become an expert. It may not happen as quickly
as you want, but when it happens.
I didn't want to cover how to market because if you don't have
direction you're find yourself skipping all the steps anyhow.
